Our Winery Design Featured in the San Francisco Chronicle

We’re so thrilled to be included among other beautiful and breathtaking spots in the Napa Valley. The SF Chronicle talks about our design legacy and spaces today, including highlighting our photography gallery:
“Fans of Sea Ranch and its weathered timber structures will identify with William Turnbull’s namesake winery since he was one of the principal designers for the coastal housing community. In 1977, Turnbull, along with friend Reverdy Johnson, bought the Oakville 20-acre vineyard and farm. In the 1980s, Turnbull transformed a barrel room into a tasting room and built an addition, creating a barn-like compound that still stands. In 1993, the property was purchased by Patrick O’Dell, and it has been reimagined as a comfortable space that connects guests with the wine-making process and the land.
Once inside the main tasting room, which is also an art gallery for the O’Dell family’s expansive American photography collection, you can see the agrarian roots of the building with cupolas, exposed wood framing and scissor trusses that support the pitched roof. The classic farm aesthetic extends outdoors with a new garden filled with raised vegetable beds, water feature and seating for guests. Sample reds and whites ($30; $60).”
